  • Watched Anime in 2007 - part 1

For some reason I ended up watching way more than I intended to do or ever did than in the years before. I suppose it began with the Iroha fandom and getting a couple of friends from that. Divided in the months I finished the stuff.

    January
    Kigeki (Comedy)
is about this a mysterious swordsman and this little girl in Ireland. That's all I'm going to say about the plot, because it's short OVA of just 10 minutes. Looks incredibly pretty and for such a short story it was very good. This makes me I really wish anime would do more stories situated in Europe or on a random South East Asian island no one's ever heard about before.

    February
On the other hand the Clover special of less than 10 minutes was plain boring instead.
Le Chevalier D'Eon had its up and downs, but I really liked the settings. (sorry I can't remember much about it anymore..)
Well, Bartender was something I watched on a whim. Yes, the series is a slice of life story about a bartender and his clients. I'm still in awe of how I actually could go through such a thing until the very end. I also was very educated.

    March
Red Garden I watched for the unusual art and setting. It was good.
Then, Ghost Hunt has to be one of the few shoujo series I actually enjoyed a lot. The characters aren't that magnificent, but it was actually their interactions who made it unique, it's not typical shoujo.

    April
Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto was one of the series I ended up fangirling a lot and I never regret watching it. I have to thank this anime for getting me into things like Kenshin, Oh! Edo Rocket, etc, plus for being an educational history lesson in animated form, because I knew absolutely nothing about it before... and for the friends I ended up getting. I'm really thankful for that the most. There are a lot of things I love (the plays, the OST, character designs, historic details, weird camera use ...), but some things weren't done that well either... like too much of the history and it sadly took a toll from the development of the non-history characters and story, that turned out rather simplistic.
As for Ayakashi - Japanese Classic Horror. The first and second story were okay, but they dragged on way too much and it got rather annoying. The third one absolutely blew my mind, one of the best and perfect things I've ever seen. I urge everyone to watch this. Period.
Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpucho: Tou gets a separate post.

  • New!

Well, I pretty much deleted the few old entries on this blog. It's often embarassing to look at them --; Plus I got rid of the orange look.

What has changed this year? Lets start with the new addition to our household..

    Sem :3
    Isn't he cuuute?!?

Today Sem is exactly 1 year and two months old. We got him about 8 months ago...

I got a short video of him here when he was in my room =)
